Lowe’s Delivery or Pickup – What You Need to Know for Free Delivery

If a home improvement project is next on your to-do list and you’re on the lookout for quality home products and delivery services that won’t break your wallet, Lowe’s is an option you might want to consider. Lowe’s sells a wide variety of building supplies, appliances, lighting, and products that will help you cater to various home-improvement-related needs.

What’s also great is that it features deals frequently, so chances are that you will find something on sale most of the time. Besides its regular offers, Lowe’s also offer shipping deals and different delivery options to cover all of its customers’ needs.

If you’re interested in how you can get free shipping when buying at Lowe’s or how much it costs to have your order delivered if you don’t qualify for the free shipping offer, here is what you need to know.

Lowe’s Free Shipping

Whether you’re a MyLowe’s customer or not, you can benefit from free shipping at Lowe’s as long as you meet certain criteria. First of all, you must place an order of $45 or more in order to qualify for free standard shipping. Keep in mind, though, that the order must total $45 or more before taxes and fees.

However, not all such purchases are eligible for this offer. The free standard shipping deal applies to items of $45 or more that weigh less than 150 pounds. If your order should be delivered to a PO Box or APO/FPO address, the items should not weigh more than 70 pounds. The items should also meet standard weight or cube requirements.

Plus, this offer applies only to orders that ship to a single address. Special Order items are excluded from this order, and standard shipping is not available for orders shipped to Alaska and Hawaii.

How to Get Free Standard Shipping If You’re a MyLowe’s Customer

Benefitting from this offer is nothing complicated. If you’re a MyLowe’s customer, you must first log into your account before checking out. In case you don’t have such an account yet you’d like to create one, take the necessary steps to do this, and then log into your newly created account.

Once you’ve done that, go to the Cart Summary and select the Standard (1 – 4 Business Days) option from the Estimate Shipping Charges drop-down. If your cart includes items that are eligible for free standard shipping, it will be automatically applied to them.

For each item in your cart, you should have the possibility to select a shipping delivery option. In case an item doesn’t show shipping as a delivery option, it means it is not eligible for this offer. Plus, you can always check the product detail page to learn more about an item’s eligibility for free standard shipping.

How to Get Free Standard Shipping If You’re a Non-MyLowe’s Customer

In case you don’t have a Lowe’s account and you don’t want to register for one, you can still benefit from the free standard shipping offer. All you have to do is take the steps mentioned above. You might also want to check the store’s free shipping page for additional details.

Whether you’re a MyLowe’s Customer or not, keep in mind that if eligible items included in your order are canceled, and as a result, your order no longer totals $45 or more, free shipping will no longer apply.

Free Pickup Options

In case you don’t mind going to the store to pick up an order you’ve placed online, you can select one of the store’s pickup options. Currently, Lowe’s offers two such options, namely: in-store pickup and curbside pickup.

Regardless of which option you prefer, you will have to take the following steps:

  1. Add the items of interest to your shopping cart and then place your online order.
  2. At checkout, make sure you select the Free Store Pickup option.

After you’ve done so, you will be notified via email when your order is ready for pickup. In case the order is scheduled for pickup at multiple stores, you will receive an email notifying you about the pickup readiness for each store.

If you’ve chosen in-store pickup, once you reach the store, you will have to go to the customer service desk or the designated pickup area. Depending on the size of the items in your order, they might be placed in a locker. To retrieve them from there, all you have to do is scan the QR code included in the notifying email.

Those who select curbside pickup will have to park in one of the designated pickup spaces and call the store. Your order will be brought to your car by an associate. Keep in mind that you will have to show your ID to the store associate. For more details on the pickup options available at Lowe’s, make sure to check the store’s pickup page.

Shipping Options & Rates

We’ve mentioned just the free shipping options, but Lowe’s offers different shipping methods, including truck delivery. Your order’s weight and the shipping method and services you choose will determine the shipping rate. A $5 surcharge applies to orders shipped to Alaska and Hawaii, and shipping charges are not refundable.
