Pure Organic Fruit Bars: a healthier snack for kids

Many parents nowadays feed their kids healthier snacks when the sugar craving kicks in. In fact, some parents take matters into their own hands and even create healthy foods of their own.

If you too are also always looking for clean-ingredient snacks for your children, here’s a bit of a scoop on Pure Organic Layered Fruit Bars, which at the beginning were a 6-year-old’s favorite snack and are now eaten by kids all over the country.

The creation of a fruity recipe

Veronica Bosgraaf, former high school Biology teacher, now author and fitness and nutrition enthusiast, invented a recipe for healthy fruit bars when her 6-year-old daughter decided to become a vegetarian.

This came about after she realized that most store-bought snacks advertised as healthy contained many hidden ingredients that were actually unhealthy.

She still wanted her kids to enjoy sweet snacks and desserts, only she wanted healthier options so one day whilst making a raw pie crust, she came up with the idea of fruit bars.

She mixed ingredients and experimented with various flavors during hundreds of hours of test and trial recipes, finally perfecting the Pure Bar that is now found as packaged product in healthy food stores and supermarkets across the U.S.

Nutritional value and health benefits in the recipe

Pure Organic fruit snacks are certified organic, non-GMO, gluten-free and USDA approved. They are made with fruit and veggie juices and purees and have no artificial flavors, no preservatives, and no synthetic colors added.

The recipe only uses real ingredients and organic fruits, rich in antioxidants to provide as much nutritional value per serving size as possible.

When nuts are added (in the nut bars), these are herbicides and pesticides-free. Sugar other than what is found naturally in fruits and veggies is nonexistent. These fruit bars are also vegan and kosher, so everyone can eat them.

Example of ingredients list as per the product label: apple puree concentrate, apple juice concentrate, natural flavor, passion fruit juice, citrus pectin, vegetable and fruit juice (carrot, blueberry), turmeric for color, lemon juice concentrate, citric acid, ascorbic acid.

Each bar is only 60 calories and provides 5 milligrams sodium, 130 milligrams potassium, and 25 grams of dietary fiber.

Where to buy Pure Organic Fruit Bars

Pure Organic Fruit Bars smell wonderful, taste delicious, and are very satisfying. One fruit bar is enough to satisfy even the sugar craving of an adult and is small enough at the same time to tuck into a pocket when on the go.

Find the layered fruit bars on Amazon or at your local Safeway, Meijer, Trader Joe’s, Costco, and Whole Foods among other retailers.

The Pure Organic Layered Fruit Bars come in two flavors, which are Strawberry & Banana and Pineapple & Passion Fruit.

Pure products also include other fruit and nut bars such as Banana Coconut, Dark Chocolate Berry, Chocolate Brownie, Wild Blueberry, Cherry Cashew, Apple Cinnamon, and Cranberry Orange so do try them out because they all pack a lot in flavor and being healthy.
