Best Buys to Shop at Ralphs to Save More Money

Ralphs is a Kroger Company subsidiary – the largest of the company’s subsidiaries in fact. The Ralphs chain is as well the oldest operating in Southern California, going back more than 140 years in the retail business.

Ralphs modest beginnings started in 1873 when George Ralphs opened his first grocery store in downtown Los Angeles. Within a few years, the business accelerated, Ralphs expanded, and the supermarket ventured into the food and bakery production industry adding further innovation and progress.

Ralphs competitive prices policy may have changed over the years with growing competition in the retail industry, but the supermarket is still offering plenty of money-saving solutions. Ralphs weekly add has some pretty good deals, and paper coupons are always welcomed, but another way to really save money at Ralphs is just knowing what groceries to shop here.

Snacks

If there is at least one must-buy from Ralphs, then it is snacks from the supermarket’s snacks section. At some time in the past, Ralphs were selling snack cookies for $0.25 per bag, Goldfish Crackers for $1, and pumpkin for $0.50 per can.

Usually, the cheapest products are not the ones in the Ralphs weekly ad, but clearance items that managers select as markdowns. Every store will have its own clearance, so the best way to find deals on snacks or anything else really is just to check your local Ralphs.

For breakfast

Whether a cereal lover or more of a Mac & Cheese type of person, you can stock up on breakfast favorites anytime at Ralphs.

For this particular section, you will also have to check the clearance isle in the store or be on the lookout for special bargains in the Ralphs weekly ad. For example, Ralphs sold at one point Kraft Mac & Cheese for $1, but if you bought 10 of the same items, you only had to pay $0.50 for each. So instead of paying $10 for 10 Kraft Mac & Cheese, you only paid $5.

The $5 Off Sale also applied if you bought, for example, in groups of 10 different select items. Let’s say you had Kraft Mac & Cheese and Kellogg’s cereals; if you bought five of each, thus in groups of 10, you still received $5 off. So five Kraft Mac & Cheese and five cereal boxes would have cost you a total of $5, and you had enough breakfast items to feed an army or a very hungry family.

Miscellaneous

Miscellaneous are usually things like dish soap, foam plates, paper towels and personal care items. These usually come as Buy 10, Save $5 deals, but the selection isn’t restricted to the aforementioned alone. Ralphs changes them weekly and it could include other stuff too, such as sauces or dressings, crackers and other foods.

You can mix and match items, which is great if you want to stock up on say, both dish soap and something the likes of multi-surface cleaner. Just an example.

Meats & Dairy

Ralphs have some good meats and decent dairy offerings, including the deli section. You might find great sale prices for meats at Ralphs, but if you can’t cook the meat before expiration date or use the dairies either, your best chance to save money on meat and dairy products from Ralphs is couponing or through Ralphs weekly ad.

You can find coupons for fresh chicken, grill sausages, milk, grated parmesan and everything in between. Other than this, if you do want to buy cheap meats from Ralphs, don’t go looking for them in some special section because you won’t find any. Ralphs keeps reduced meat right where it usually sits, but you can tell it’s been reduced if it has the red sticker.
