How to Save with Kroger Digital Coupons

Featuring a rich selection of products ranging from groceries to household items, electronics, and personal care products, Kroger is worth considering when you need to stock up on such items without breaking the wallet.

The wide variety of products will help you cover your various needs in a single shopping session, while the regular deals and offers will help you save. If you’re new to Kroger and want to make sure you get the lowest price possible at this retailer, here is more on how to use coupons at Kroger.

Sign up for a Kroger Shopper’s Plus Account

While you can benefit from sale prices without a Kroger Plus Shopper’s Card, you won’t receive personalized offers and get digital coupons without one. Therefore, the first thing to do is create a Kroger account if you don’t have one already. Customers who want to participate in the digital coupon program are required to have a digital account with a valid, active Plus Card.

In case you don’t have a Kroger Plus card, they will create a virtual one for you when you create the account. If you do have one, then register it to benefit from access to hundreds of coupons, check your fuel points, and track your savings.

Linking your Shopper’s Card to your digital account is easy. Just sign in, go to the “Profile Information” section, and select the “Edit” option under “Shopper’s Card Number.” Add your Shopper’s Card information, and you will then be able to load offers directly to your Card.

Get the Kroger App

For a more convenient shopping experience, make sure to also download the retailer’s app. It is available for both Android and iOS devices and will make it much easier for you to take advantage of the offers and coupons at Kroger.

Once you’ve downloaded and installed the app, link the app to your Shopper’s Card. You can even use the app to sign up for an account. The app allows you to scan products and thus see if there’s a coupon or sale available so that you can save. Digital coupons and offers will be deducted from your total purchase prior to paper coupons or any other discounts, and they cannot be added back or removed once the Card has been scanned.

How to Access and Redeem Digital Coupons

Digital coupons can be easily accessed on the retailer’s website or in the Kroger app. Just sign in to your digital account and go to “Save,” which can be found in the main navigation. You should then be able to access the “Digital Coupons” page where you can see the digital coupons available. To load them to your Shopper card, all you have to do is click the “Load to Card” button on each coupon.

You can load up to 150 coupons at a time. Just keep in mind that certain coupons are valid over several weeks or even months and may count as more than one coupon when you load them. Most coupons can be loaded one time per household. Even so, given the many regularly available coupons and the wide variety of products they apply to, it is likely for you to find something of interest included in coupon promotions.

In case you want to remove a coupon you’ve previously loaded onto your card, you can do so from the “Digital Coupons” section, “My Coupons” tab. You should find the “Remove from Card” option at the bottom of each offer.

Redeeming digital coupons is easy as after you’ve added them from the website or Kroger app, all you have to do is purchase the items of interest, and the discount will automatically be applied to your purchase. In case you shop in-store, scan your Shopper’s Card or enter your Alt ID at the register. You should see the discount on your receipt underneath the qualifying product. A digital coupon is identified as “ecpn” on your receipt.

Use Digital, Paper, and Manufacturer Coupons to Save

What’s great about couponing at Kroger is that the retailer doesn’t accept only digital coupons but also paper coupons. While the store’s digital coupons can be clipped once you’ve signed in and loaded onto your Kroger Plus card, paper ones are available with the Sunday newspaper.

You can also print digital coupons from your computer or device, just make sure that you read Kroger’s coupon policy carefully before using paper coupons to make sure you comply with the rules.

According to the retailer’s official website, you can print a list of digital coupons, and doing so is simple. Log in, then go to the “My Coupons” tab, and click the “Print My Coupons ” button in order to print the coupons you’ve selected.

Keep an Eye on Special Digital Savings Events

Kroger runs special digital sales events that will help you save even further using coupons. Such events are usually held about once every couple of months and last several days. At the time of writing, Kroger allows you to clip digital coupons and use them up to five times in one transaction to save on your favorite participating products.

When there’s such an event going, you should see the coupons participating in the available promotion in the section dedicated to the event. However, you can also learn more about a certain coupon by opening the offer and clicking the “more details” option. If there are any limitations to the coupon, you should see them mentioned there.

Plus, keep an eye on Friday deals as every other Friday or once a month, select Kroger stores run digital offers for Free Friday Deal. You will then have the possibility to download a Kroger digital coupon to your card and get a free product.

Such coupons are usually valid for two weeks, and they should feature the expiration date, but you only have one day to download the offer to your card. Therefore, when you see such a deal, make sure to download it as soon as possible if you want to benefit from it. Even though some stores have suspended these Friday specials, given the pandemic, check the retailer’s website to see when such events go live again.
