How to Save with Walgreens Digital Coupons

Walgreens is the go-to store for many shoppers as it offers a wide variety of health and wellness products, as well as photo items. Besides the many products available for sale, the retailer runs regular deals in various forms, ranging from the special prices featured in the weekly flyer to cash rewards.

What’s more, you can also use paper and digital coupons to save even further when shopping at this retailer. If you’re new to the so-called paperless coupons, though, here is a guide to help you make the most out of them next time you stock up on your needs at Walgreens.

What are Paperless Coupons?

As we’ve said above, Walgreens offers both paper and paperless coupons. While the former category includes the old-school coupons that you can cut out and show to the cashier at checkout, paperless coupons are electronic coupons that can be clipped to a shopper’s myWalgreens account and card.

Such coupons can be added directly from the retailer’s official website from your computer or from your mobile phone using the Walgreens app.

How to Get Access to Paperless Coupons at Walgreens

As is the case with many retailers that offer digital coupons, you will see that when you try to clip an electronic coupon from Walgreens.com or from the store’s app, you will be required to sign in. If you already have a myWalgreens account, all you have to do at this point is sign in. However, in case you don’t have one, creating an account is the first step to take. Doing so is free, easy, and straightforward, though.

What’s great is that by creating such an account, you will get to earn Walgreens Cash rewards, automatically unlock sale prices, save 5% on Walgreens branded products, and benefit from various other perks.

Once you’ve created such an account or signed in, go to the “Coupons” page, and you will find the latest offers. At the time of writing, there were 358 coupons available, and they typically cover a wide variety of products, so it shouldn’t be difficult for you to find something that you need paired with a digital coupon.

To simplify your shopping experience, this page allows you to filter the available coupons by category or sort them by coupon value, expiration date, brand name, or most recent. You can also choose the recommended option or use the search box at the top right of the page and thus find coupons by keyword. In order to add a certain coupon to your card, just hit the “clip” button.

Additionally, you can clip coupons directly from the online version of the Walgreens Weekly Ad. Once you’ve found a coupon of interest, simply hover over it and click the “Clip to myWalgreens” button.

Even if there are typically hundreds of paperless coupons available, there is a limit when it comes to how many you can clip to your card. When you’re close to that limit, you will see a warning message at the top of the Paperless Coupons homepage.

If you want to know how many coupons you’ve clipped, simply click the “Clipped coupons” button on the Paperless Coupons homepage. Here you will also see the coupons you’ve clipped and the ones that expire soon once you click the dedicated buttons.

In case you want to remove some of the coupons you’ve clipped, you can do so by clicking on the “Clipped Coupons” button. You should then see a list of the coupons you’ve clipped and are still active. At the lower right corner of the product description, you should see the “Unclip” button. To remove a clipped coupon, you should thus click on this button. However, keep in mind that once you unclip a digital coupon, you can no longer clip it again; therefore, think twice before doing so.

As far as expired coupons are concerned, they will be automatically removed from your account when they reach their expiration date. To see all the details of a specific coupon, including the expiration date, just click on the ”View details” option featured on every coupon.

Download the Walgreens App

While you can clip digital coupons directly from the retailer’s website from your computer, you can do so when on the go by using the Walgreens app. The app is available for iOS and Android devices and comes with many advantages. You can use it to earn Walgreens Cash rewards, get personalized offers, view the weekly ad, clip deals and coupons, and so on.

Furthermore, you can use the app to refill by Scan to get prescriptions faster and easier, track Rx orders, and get pill reminders, so the app will help you even beyond shopping.

In order to clip digital coupons via the app, just select the Weekly Ad & Coupons icon from the home screen of the app, and then clip the coupons of interest from the Weekly Ad & Coupon page.

How to Redeem Digital Coupons

After you’ve clipped the paperless coupons you’d like to use, redeeming them is easy and simple. Purchase the items of interest and the coupons will be automatically applied in-store, at checkout, when you use your Balance Rewards card and enter your phone number. You can also scan your phone through the Walgreens mobile app or ask the sales associate to help you with that.

If you shop online, they will also be automatically applied to your purchase since they are valid for online orders as well.

Digital Coupon Policy

There are many ways to save at Walgreens, and one of them is to use a promo code and manufacturer coupon on the same order or product as the retailer allows shoppers to do so. However, there are various terms and conditions that apply, so it is best to check the coupon policy before your next purchase.

For example, Walgreens does not accept competitor’s coupons, and coupons may not be applied against any free item received in any offer. Plus, it does not accept “free product” internet printed coupons.
