Signing up for the Balance Rewards membership is advantageous if you shop at Walgreens often because the program offers points for every purchase, including prescriptions and photo services.

You receive points for purchases both in store and online, and in addition, as a member, you receive members-only discounts and offers. Every 5,000 points earned is a $5 reward, but there is a maximum amount of points that you can redeem in a single purchase, which is 40,000 points for a $50 reward.
